2010 Integrated Art/Science Project

As part of the 2010 Eighth Grade Integrated Arts/Science Project, students toured The Columbia Museum of Art’s show of Ansel Adams’s most important photographs. In the museum’s studio, students also created collages using a wide scale of textures in black & white. Mr.Duhan shared his experiences of climbing Half Dome Trail, the subject of one of Adams’s most famous photos, and Mr. Bryan shared his knowledge of the camera as a professional photographer. Mr. Ellington & Mrs. Scurry have collaborated with a project printing on photographic, sun-sensitive paper and material. In completing the project, students created collages of their paper prints as well as two fabric wall hangings for The IMS Building.
