A Tradition of Giving
Heathwood Hall’s enduring excellence is the result of continuing financial support from generations of Highlanders – alumnae, parents, faculty, grandparents and friends – who understand that excellence does not come easily or inexpensively. We are blessed to be sustained by a generous community whose members make the school a philanthropic priority. We hope you will consider a gift to strengthen and maintain our school for this generation of Highlanders and all the Highlanders to come.
Donors make gifts Heathwood for many purposes and in many forms.
ANNUAL GIVING is the school’s lifeblood, providing essential funding to the operating budget each year. These gifts support academic programs, faculty salaries, physical plant needs, library acquisitions, athletic programs, and the arts, just to name a few areas. A gift to the Annual Fund supports every aspect of the school and every student.
CAPITAL GIFTSsupport the construction of new facilities, the renovation of existing buildings, the purchase of new technology and improvements to our campus.
ENDOWMENT GIFTSprovide for Heathwood’s financial future. Examples include the creation and maintenance of endowed scholarships, professional development funds, and master teaching chairs, as well as support for specific academic, athletic and arts programs.
MATCHING GIFTS occur when donor gifts to Heathwood are doubled, or in some cases tripled, because corporations and foundations match gifts to education made by their employees, retirees and directors.
We receive gifts in various forms, including:,
Cash, checks and credit cards
Matching Gifts
Gifts of appreciated securities
Gifts of real estate
Planned Gifts – Including bequests, gifts of retirement plans and life insurance, life income gifts, charitable lead trusts
There are many ways to support Heathwood which offer substantial tax, estate planning, and other financial benefits. The Development Office looks forward to helping you make a gift that meets your needs. Please contact Ethel Bunch, bunche@heathwood.org, 803-231-7734 for more information.
