Head of School Search

This summer, the Heathwood Hall Board of Trustees announced its search for a new head of school.

In honoring this unique opportunity, as well as our School’s rich history, tradition and inclusive spirit, the search process has been decisively rooted in the notion that it should engage our entire community from the start.

To ensure that involvement, the Board of Trustees also announced our School’s partnership with the highly respected educational search firm, Wickenden Associates of Princeton, New Jersey. Promptly following this announcement, the team from Wickenden visited our campus for comprehensive discussions with numerous members of our community including faculty and staff, students, administrators, parents, alumni and many others.

In keeping with the search process timetable, Wickenden created an Opportunity Statement and conducted an initial review of candidates based upon the feedback received from their exploratory visit with our community.

In mid-November, the Search Committee interviewed a small group of semifinalist candidates selected from the aforementioned pool. Finalist candidates were then selected and are currently being introduced to the school community for further review throughout the month of January.

On Thursday, February 9, 2012, the Board of Trustees concluded the Head of School search process by announcing their unanimous decision to select Dr. Michael Heath as Heathwood Hall’s Head of School.
