HHES Convocation

The annual Convocation Service, an assembly of the entire Heathwood Hall campus community in worship, took place Tuesday, September 17. Beginning with an all-school processional to the gymnasium, the ceremony and celebration of the Holy Eucharist reminds students, faculty and administrators each year of their sacred calling to live, work, and worship together to fulfill the teachings of the Christian faith. Corporate worship also gives attendees an opportunity to reflect upon the presence of God in their lives.

The Right Reverend Dorsey F. Henderson, Bishop of the Diocese of Upper SC, served as Celebrant. The Reverend Michael Sullivan, Canon for Mission at Trinity Cathedral and a Heathwood Hall parent, shared the morning's sermon, challenging each student to help spread God's light in the world. The School's youngest students -- children in the early childhood classes -- created a hand-painted altar cloth for the occasion and received a special blessing from Bishop Henderson.
