Feather Frenzy

Heathwood Hall's scenic 133-acre campus and the land around it are blessed with a remarkable variety of natural habitats: fields, forests, a pond, a swamp, a river and more! Each spring, Early Childhood and Lower School students take advantage of this natural bounty, leaving their classrooms for an extensive outdoor science curriculum titled Habitats of Heathwood. This year, the HOH theme was "Feather Frenzy," with each class studying in depth one of the bird species commonly found in the area. From Carolina Wrens to Turkey Vultures to Cardinals, these pictures from the end-of-unit celebration show our classes sharing their newfound knowledge in songs and skits. It was a great day to make memories -- an event strictly for the birds!
