grade students began their integrated arts/humanities study of China with
a visit from Tan Ye, a University of South Carolina professor. Above,
Prof. Ye demonstrates the art of Chinese ink painting, teaching the students
about the symbolism and techniques involved in this ancient art. Later
in the study, each student will create a final painting of his/her own,
defending the the subject matter and symbolic meaning in the writing portion
of this project. Some of the student paintings will be available for bid
at Heathwood's annual auction on March 15 |
