| On May 1, 2, and 3, the Upper School Heathwood Players presented "Leader of the Pack: The Ellie Greenwich Musical" with book by Anne Beatts, music and lyrics by Ellie Greenwich and Friends, based on the original play by Melanie Mintz, and with additional material by Jack Heifner. Inspired by the true story of a young woman who dreamed of a career as a songwriter during the 1960s, the musical included legendary hits such as "Be My Baby," "Do Wah Diddy," "Da Doo Ron Ron," "River Deep, Mountain High," "Chapel of Love," and many more. Twenty-one cast and three crew members worked with Ms. Swick (director), Ms. Stephenson (musical director) and guest choreographers Cindy Flach and Mary Catherine Lawson to present the production. |
