| On November
13th, Heathwood Hall students welcomed Chris Soentpiet -- the award-winning
children's book author and illustrator -- to the campus. Soentpiet's visit
was part of the school's ongoing Visiting Author series, a program supported
through funds raised in Heathwood's annual Book Fair. The Visiting Author
program is designed to inspire students to read more and to improve their
creative writing skills. Students from several grades enjoyed hearing
from and questioning Soentpiet about his life and work. To learn more
