The 2004 Fine Arts Festival

Heathwood's annual celebration of student expression and creativity -- the 2004 Fine Arts Festival -- took place on campus Friday, March 26. Throughout the afternoon, students in kindergarten through grade 12 experienced a wide variety of arts-related sessions, including West African drumming, photography, pottery, musicians, filmmaking, and a performance by the Lower School drama club. In the evening, Heathwood students' artistic endeavors were showcased. This year's collaborating artists included photographer Peter Tarpley, drummer Solomon Shokes, Jr., and Trinity Cathedral Choirmaster and Canon Organist Jared Johnson. Mr. Tarpley's work was displayed in the new visual art gallery in the Fine Arts pod, and Mr. Shokes and Mr. Johnson collaborated with the IS/MS general music and IS/MS/US choral classes to prepare the works students shared during the evening. In addition, Upper School theatre and Lower School chorus students performed. Enjoy these pictures of our day devoted to the Fine Arts at Heathwood Hall.
