4th Grade Sumerian Day
| The fourth graders continued their study of Sumer with a Sumerian Day celebration. Dressed as ancient Sumerians, the children cooked, made helmets and crowns, had their profiles traced and designed like Sumerian art, wrote on clay tablets, and participated in the penny boat contest. The highlight of the day was the Boat Float on Heathwood's miniature version of the Tigris River. Sailing the boats they constructed was a very special treat for the children and an event enjoyed by all. |
