4th Grade Country Book Walk

Fourth graders took a "walk on the wild side" the week of March 14 with their Country Book Walk projects. Each student honed his or her research skills learning a host of facts about one country from around the world. The students took extensive notes and created colorful posters to teach others about their countries of choice. Then a scavenger hunt took place through the fourth grade classrooms, challenging viewers to learn facts about each country and adding a dash of fun. The Country Book Walk is a stepping stone to the larger "Create-a-Country" exhibition for all fourth graders -- a longer-term research project that concludes the school year by challenging students to demonstrate their understanding of cultures, societies, governments, currency, economies, natural resources and geography.
