8th Grade Students and Professional Ink Paintings Art Show
| In February, Heathwood's art department premiered the first student/professional art show featuring Chinese ink paintings by 8th graders. The presentation was made possible by a loan from Professor Tan Ye, who helped instruct the students and led a related conference at the University of South Carolina. Calligraphers attended that event from such places as Taiwan and Nanjing. The Heathwood show served as a great way for the school community to celebrate the art, beauty and symbolsim of the students' ink paintings while also honoring Professor Ye's work with Heathwood art students over the past six years. |
