Blessing of The Animals
| On October 21, Heathwood Hall celebrated a rain-delayed St. Francis Day with the annual Blessing of the Animals. Christian churches, schools and many other groups worldwide celebrate the annual event in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi, revered for his love for all creatures. Many thanks to The Rev. Fletcher Montgomery, rector at St. John's Episcopal Church, Shandon, for blessing the host of furry, feathered and even fanged friends brought on campus. |
