Team Ties
for Second in State |
|
| Heathwood junior Bobby Barton earned the highest individual score January
26 at the SCISA Upper School Math Meet. Barton and his teammates
competed in Division I of the contest, which includes the state's
largest independent schools. This is the second time Bobby has been honored with a top award for his outstanding math skills. In 8th grade, he was the #1 student at the Middle School level of the SCISA math competition. There was good news, too, for the entire Heathwood Hall math team, coached by Upper School math teachers Gwen Bunch and Rip Blackstone. Heathwood finished in a three-way tie for second place in the state behind #1 St. Joseph's Catholic School of Greenville. The team also placed third in the state a week earlier at The University of South Carolina's annual High School Math Contest. |
