Trinity Bazaar

The Daughters of the Holy Cross at Trinity Cathedral sponsor an annual bazaar, the proceeds of which support a number of community missions.  The senior class at Heathwood Hall is one of the lucky beneficiaries of this group’s largess, and for over fifteen years has received bazaar funds earmarked for the year end Rural Mission project at Johns Island.

As a way of saying “thank you,” our students provide as much support as possible in preparation for the bazaar and during the day of its activities.  The Bazaar 2008 was no exception!  The 9th grade class members spent part of their day on Tuesday, November 11 assisting for two hours in the unloading of donated goods and books from storage pods into the Cathedral’s Administrative Building and the Averyt Center. Once again they proved the adage that “many hands make light work!”  In addition a group of student and adult volunteers gave of their afternoon time in the kitchen, helping to make and bottle over 21 cases of basil and rosemary jelly from herbs that had been harvested from Heathwood’s ECLC garden.  The jelly was sold as part of the Bazaar’s Pickle Pantry.
