The United Way Day of Action |
||
Recently over 50 Heathwood Hall 8th grade students joined hundreds of volunteers from throughout the Midlands to help serve United Way agencies. The Heathwood students helped sort food at the Harvest Hope Food bank, read stories to pre-school children at the Arthurtown Child Development Center, helped prepare supplies for Homeworks projects, and played games with clients at the Babcock Center. The students began their day with a presentation by United Way representatives before heading out to their worksites. In addition to the opportunity to give back to our community, the service trip allowed students to learn more about agencies that meet critical needs throughout the Midlands.
