Heathwood Equestrian Team Makes Debut

Heathwood Hall's equestrian team made its debut recently, competing with several other schools: Hammond, Wilson Hall, Thomas Sumter Academy, Creekside (barn team), and Storeybook (barn team). There were close to 100 competitors in total for the show.

Heathwood riders did very well for their first time out - Kate Evans (Upper School) was 4th in Intermediate over fences, Sarah Jackson Smith (Upper School) was 5th in Intermediate Equitation on the flat, and Braxton Comer (Upper School) rode well in a very large and competitive Novice Equitation Flat class. Kay Finlay (Middle School) was 3rd in Future Novice Equitation on the flat, and Middle Schoolers Emmye Mullins and Julia Tenhover came in 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Future Equitation on the flat (walk, trot).

Heathwood's next horse show is November 12th, hosted by Hammond/Wilson Hall (location TBD).
