WeatherBug, ESPN, and Heathwood Report Gameday Weather

WeatherBug, in conjunction with ESPN, recently contacted Heathwood Hall in search of a location in close proximity to Williams-Brice Stadium - so accurate weather conditions could be used on-air during Gamecock football games. After deciding that Heathwood was a great location, they installed a free weather reporting station on our campus.

The station consists of sensors and other equipment mounted on a pole atop the Robinson Center. There is also an Online Weather Center website to view conditions, forecasts, and maps. The setup also includes a 15" LCD display which is currently mounted in Peyton Sasnett’s room and shows four different slides: our school's current weather conditions, the three day forecast, the closest WeatherBug camera image, and the local radar. In addition, the display shows current warnings for our area when they are issued. Once our new Dining Commons facility is completed, the monitor will be installed in that building for all students and faculty/staff to view.
