Transition Program

Heathwood Hall Episcopal School offers a transition program designed for students in grades one through four who need intensive academic support in reading, writing, and/or mathematics. Students work closely with learning specialists who use a variety of multisensory reading approaches to include Orton-Gillingham Reading, Project Read, and Read Naturally. The duration of time a student spends with the learning specialist depends on the child's unique learning needs, style, and academic progress. The learning specialists work closely with classroom teachers to provide individual and small group instruction. Students are able to move easily in and out of the regular classroom while receiving daily academic support.
