Early Childhood/Lower School Library

The Heathwood Hall Lower School Library serves students in nursery school through fourth grade. Early Childhood students visit the library weekly for scheduled enrichment activities and the opportunity to check out library materials. Lower School classes are on a flexible schedule which means that they have unlimited access to the library when they need materials or information that the library can provide. Teachers and librarians collaborate to incorporate skills, research, and literary enrichment into classroom curriculum units. Parents, as members of the Heathwood community, are also welcomed and encouraged to check out materials.

The library houses a collection that contains more than 14,000 volumes and a wide variety of books on tape and CD, DVDs, electronic databases and other non-book materials. The library catalog can be accessed through the Internet, and faculty and students may request items and place holds from any location.

For information about individual library programs, communication from the library, and additional online resources, please visit your student’s homeroom EdLine page.
