Winterim 2011

Another March, another Upper School Winterim.  With the anticipation of spring comes the excitement of the Upper School Winterim experience.  This year students from the Upper School explored personal interests through a week long experience that varied from work as an intern in New York City to travels abroad to the study of elephant conservation in Thailand.  The adventures saw many Heathwood students travel around the world to Rome, Barcelona, Costa Rica, Cozumel, and London. The college exploration trip offered students a chance to learn about college first hand by visiting Vanderbilt University, University of The South - Sewanee, Belmont University, University of Alabama, and Emory University.  Another group of students explored American History visiting historic sites throughout Virginia. Other students found internship opportunities working with doctors, senators, artists, writers, TV productionists and many other professionals.  By week’s end there were many great learning experiences and many friendships built along the way.  Please take a few minutes to explore the Winterim experiences below.
