A Note to Our Alumni

Dear Fellow Alumn,

As we start to move into the quiet calm of summer on the Heathwood campus, I am already looking forward to the alumni events in the coming months. I know I will see many of you as you come and go from campus, shuttling your own children down the road. After all, 11% of the student body of Heathwood is currently made up of children of alumni! Many of you I have not yet met, and I look forward to the chance to get together with you. I hope that all of you will think about the way Heathwood Hall Episcopal School helped build you into the person you are today, and I have optimism that you will join me in conversations about how to celebrate and help your alma mater. Heathwood is a place where many found their friends, their spouses, and their professional inspirations, making it a place worthy of remembering. When was the last time you laid eyes on the fields, the pond, and the pod where you learned how to read? It is still as lovely as ever out here, and the memories of so many greats, like Coach Anicito, Miss Lamar and Miss Paige, still guide so many of us. Come visit us. I would love to give you your own tour.

Heathwood, in return, wants to honor you as well, highlighting the substantial amounts of good our alumni have done in the world. I will be working on alumni profiles, presenting a distinguished graduate of Heathwood Hall on the school website each month. I will also be working on promoting businesses owned by Heathwood graduates and on boosting support for these businesses within the Heathwood community. Please contact me at cooperl@heathwood.org if you would like for your business to be spotlighted. This process will begin in August 2010 as the school year commences.

You will be receiving mailings and messages from me in the coming months, and I hope you will not hesitate to contact me with questions and comments. You can follow alumni news at this website, and you can follow it all on Facebook as well. Until then, please mark October 1, 2010 on your calendar for the Heathwood's Homecoming. We have a fabulous weekend in store for you.

Sincerely,
Lynn Manning Cooper
