7th Grade Dedicates Column to Nurse Beale
For 22 years, School Nurse Ross Beale has cared for Heathwood students of all ages. That’s why, upon her retirement, the 7th graders have dedicated their mosaic column, entitled “Eyes,” to Ross Beal.
The column draws its inspiration from Psalm 121: 1-2:
“I lift my eyes up to the hills – where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of Heaven and Earth.”
It is one of a series of columns under the Middle School on which the 7th graders create themed mosaic artwork which they dedicate to a faculty or staff member who has had a significant impact on the life of the school.
In the ceremony presenting the column to Nurse Beale on May 30, the students explained that it depicts a winding path through the hills, symbolizing the journeys we are all on – their ups and downs, and, as the Psalm suggests, the importance of those who provide help along the way.
