Join international students from around the world for Heathwood Hall’s English Immersion Summer School. The purpose of this elite English immersion experience is: to enhance international student language skills and promote first-hand understanding of American schools, families, and culture. This program is open to international students in rising grades 8 – 11 (ages 13 – 17).
During three hours each morning, students will attend intensive English courses with a certified ESL instructor. Students will gain the tools necessary to effectively communicate, be confident in conversations, become better writers, and effectively manage study time in order to succeed in the top American schools. After enjoying lunch with American students and classmates, students will participate in a variety of adventures in the afternoon that include field trips around the city of Columbia, American sports, art, robotics, and fun contests.
International students in this program will also meet and interact with American students who participate in afternoon activities. Field trips to the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina, and events throughout the local community will be unforgettable experiences. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the course.
