Heathwood Artists Display Work At Still Hopes

Thursday, April 11, 2019

Thirty-four Heathwood Upper School students and seven recent alumni currently have artwork on display at Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community in West Columbia. The student artists were honored at a reception at Still Hopes on April 10. Their work will remain on display in the Still Hopes Gallery through the end of May.

Having student artwork selected to be shown at Still Hopes is a significant honor, said Upper School Art teacher Scotty Peek: "Their gallery committee is very selective, normally scheduling professional artists, so we are honored to be the first high school to exhibit in their space."

The student artists include Clare Baker, Evan Barker, Mary Evelyn Bowers, Rondasha Caughman, Ellie Colwell, Lucy DeLong, Annaka Ehlers, Evan Farr, Ben Feldman, Alison Hall, Drew Hall, Riley Haywood, Alan He, JD Heaton, Charlotte Hughes, Morgan Iseman, Hanna Jacobson, Elle Kuse, Julia Laurterbach, James Lucas, Ben Mathews, Constance McCants, Claire McDonald, Penelope McDougall, Charlie Peluso, Henry Scouten, William Scouten, Rianna Shelley, Paul Smith, Brianna Stanley, Lindsay Swarat, Aidan Willhide, and Kate Willhide. Graduated students whose work was selected for display are Azaria Cooper, Landon Hardy, Sallie McLeod, Olivia Moran, Maddy Parrott, Maggie Petit, and Mary Royall Wilgis.
