Who are Heathwood Scholars?
Academically exceptional, well rounded students who embody the values and ideals that represent the very best of the Heathwood community. Intellect and integrity are among the defining factors of a Heathwood Scholar. Total scholarship dollars in any given year cannot exceed one upper school tuition. New Scholarship dollars become available as recipients graduate.
To be eligible for a Heathwood Merit Scholarship, a student must be a current rising 10th – 12th grade Heathwood student and must meet the following criteria:
Candidates must have an average SAT or PSAT score in the 95th percentile or above for their current year in critical reading and mathOR have an average score on the verbal ability and quantitative ability sections of the ERB in the 95th % or above (suburban norms from spring of prior academic year). Current 9th grade students may qualify based either on their spring 8th grade ERB scores or fall 9th gradePSAT scores.
Candidates must have a 90% or above in all core courses for the first academic semester OR an average of 93% in all core courses for the first academic semester.
Participation in Co-Curricular Activities
Candidates must actively participate in one or more co-curricular activities. Activities may be but do not need to be school sponsored.
Integrity and Character
Candidates must be identified by their strong character and integrity. These factors will be evaluated based on recommendations by teachers and division heads.
