Heathwood Yearbook Named Best All Around

Thursday, May 17, 2018

Heathwood's 2017-18 yearbook has been named Best All Around by the South Carolina Independent School Association. This is the second time in the past three years that Heathwood has earned that honor.

The Heathwood yearbook also won Best Theme Development, and received Honorable Mention in all three other categories in which yearbooks were evaluated--Photography, Layout/Design, and Copywriting. Heathwood was the only school to be recognized in all five categories.

The 2017-18 yearbook staff includes Editor-in-Chief Marie Charlotte Demetriades, Co-Editor Amelia Robinson-Brown, Sports Editor Hannah Harris, and staffers Daniel Lucas, William Scouten, Ben Mathews, Emily Putnam, Lawson Leidinger, Allison Hall, Morgan Goodwin, and Mary Martha Beard. Their faculty advisor is Cindy Scannella.

The theme of this year's book was "We See." In the words of the Editor-in-Chief, "This year, we strived to make The Highlander about looking ahead, by exploring what We See. The book was created with the input of students, faculty, alumni, and parents in mind.... Most importantly, we sought to include the perspective of the students: what we do, who we are, and what We See."
