Heathwood's Middle School Mock Trial team won this year's regional competition, earned every possible individual award, and took home the coveted Civility and Professionalism Award.
In addition to the overall win against tough competition, the following individual students were honored at the competition, which was held at the Lexington Summary Courthouse on November 10:
--Best Witness, Judges' Choice: Lou Christian, Jasmine Jones
--Best Attorney, Judges' Choice: Liam Quan, Annie Benoit
--Best Witness, Peers' Choice: Jasmine Jones, Annabelle Farber
--Best Attorney, Peers' Choice: Elizabeth Burns
This is the second time Heathwood has won the Civility and Professionalism Award since it was introduced in 2016.
With the region win, the team now advances to the state competition, November 30-December 1, at the Richland County Summary Court.
