After being one of just three teams to advance to the state competition out of a highly competitive Midlands region, Heathwood's Middle School Mock Trial team did very well at State, garnering nine individual awards.
8th grader Alex Owens was one of the few students at the competition to win an attorney award for both plaintiff and defense.
7th grader Liam Quan won four awards altogether: one Peer Best Attorney Award, two Peer Best Witness Awards and one Judges’ Award for Best Witness
