Through her senior exhibition research, Carter Seibels '98 ultimately chose to study glass blowing, took a class from a local artist, and began producing unique glass beads that could be sold to people who were interested in crafts and homemade goods. Fast forward a few years, and Seibels found herself attending college, where she continued to hone in on her skills and interest in making jewelry and designing glass beads. Seven Heathwood alumni are among the 40 young writers from across the state featured in the South Carolina Honors College's new anthology Writing South Carolina: Selections from the 5th Annual High School Writing Contest. Last week Inc. Magazine published their annual list of the fastest growing companies in the country. TerraStride, was 624th on the list for the United States and 4th overall in the state of South Carolina. TerraStride achieved a 751% growth in revenue from 2016 to 2019, is the fastest growing software company in the state of South Carolina to be listed by Inc. Magazine, and the 6th fastest growing software company in the SC, NC, and GA market. Read More.

On the first anniversary of his passing, we honored a Highlander who was taken from us much too soon with the dedication of the Jake Clarkson Memorial Patio on August 25, 2020. Heathwood alumnus and parent W.D. Morris, Jr. is this year's recipient of the Anne Thornhill Weston Alumni Award.
