​Heathwood Middle School students have raised money for Harvest Hope Food Bank through their annual Turkey Trot for more than a decade. ​ Students in Heathwood’s Lower School and Early Childhood Learning Center hosted their grandparents and special friends on campus October 16, 2015.  More than 400 grandparents and friends filled the Dining Commons for a special program featuring songs from the Upper School Acapella ensemble and from children in each grade ranging from EC3s to 4th grade. Dear Heathwood Families, After assessing how everything went with this morning’s commute to school, we have decided to resume our regular 8:20 a.m. start time as of tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 13. Bus pick-ups and carpool drop-offs will run at their usual times. Dear Heathwood Families, Heathwood volunteers helped families clean up today, and we revisited our hardest hit families to reassess their needs. The Cross Country team worked with families to move furniture and goods, while the football team volunteered at Harvest Hope. ​Heathwood Hall sophomore Maryah Nasir has been named Midlands-area Player of the Week for September 21-28 by ColaDaily.com. Maryah earned ColaDaily’s attention by winning the girls varsity race at last weekend’s Lake Murray Invitational with a time of 18:27. Maryah has now won all three of the races she has competed in so far this season. Steve Victory joins Heathwood this year as Head Football Coach and Head Baseball Coach. Lions, tigers, and bears (oh, my!) invaded Heathwood’s campus this summer when we hosted Workshop Theatre’s June 25-28 production of Wizard of Oz.  Directed by Heathwood drama teacher EG Engle, the show featured some 60 young actors ranging in age from four to 17, including Heathwood students Gracie and Maggie Tanner, Marra Edwards, and Ellie Hedgepath.
