NJHS Diaper Drive Collects 6800 Diapers for Harvest Hope
Thanks to a host of generous donors, the National Junior Honor Society's 2020 Diaper Drive significantly exceeded its goal of collecting 5000 diapers for Harvest Hope Food Bank, bringing in 6800 diapers and counting.
The Diaper Drive is the NJHS's biggest annual service project, and normally fills the lobby of the Middle School with bags and boxes of diapers and wipes, which are always greatly needed at Harvest Hope. This year's campus closure and social distancing requirements meant the 2020 Diaper Drive had to be different. The students and their faculty advisors, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Pope, rose to the challenge by arranging a time on May 12 when families could drive through the parking lot at Harvest Hope and make donations, and creating an online donation portal. Middle School faculty members wearing Highlander plaid masks were on hand to accept the donations.
At this time when many in our community are experiencing economic hardship, Harvest Hope's need for donations is particularly acute, so even for those who missed the Diaper Drive, it's not too late to give. Donate or learn more at https://www.harvesthope.org/.
