Ronnie Porter Named Mr. Richland County Football Player of the Year
Heathwood Hall senior Ronnie Porter has been named Mr. Richland County Football Player of the Year. The award caps off a stellar season in which Ronnie rushed for more than 1600 yards, scored 15 touchdowns, and had 98 tackles and seven sacks.
“Ronnie is an outstanding football player but an even better person,” said Heathwood coach Danny Lewis. “He means so much to our Heathwood Hall football program and our community. I’m tickled to death for him and I’m excited to watch what the next phase of his life. He has a bright future.”
The award recognizes an outstanding senior football player in Richland County for his achievements both on and off the field. Ronnie was one of 17 nominees from both public and independent schools.
