Six Students Inducted into Heathwood Chapter of the Cum Laude Society
Congratulations to the six members of the Class of 2020 who were tapped as members of the prestigious Cum Laude Society last spring: Madeline Ashcraft, Percy Lyu, Faith Robertson, Ava Rosenbaum, Riana Shelley, and Andrew Sobel.
Although we were unable to hold a formal induction ceremony last spring, we are proud of all that these students have accomplished. Membership in the Cum Laude Society is earned through outstanding grades and standardized test scores, as well as consistent enrollment in AP and honors subjects. A student who achieves this recognition -- equivalent to the Phi Beta Kappa program in higher educaiton -- is one distinguished by academic initiative and excellence in addition to academic integrity and intellectual curiosity within or beyond the classroom.
Having a chapter of the Cum Laude Society on campus is a noteworthy achievement for Heathwood Hall as well. Only 382 schools worldwide have earned a chapter, and the organization's materials state that the presence of a Cum Laude chapter at a secondary school is an indication that superior scholastic achievement is honored.”
