Three Heathwood Artists Featured in Columbia Museum of Art Exhibit

Wednesday, October 9, 2019

Upper School Art Teacher Scotty Peek, former Middle School Art Teacher Brian Rego, and Heathwood alumna Mary Gilkerson are three of the nine featured artists in the Columbia Museum of Art's Exhibit "En Plein Air: Scenes of South Carolina."

The exhibit, which runs October 4 - January 12, is being staged in conjunction with the museum's concurrent exhibition "Van Gogh and His Inspirations," which likewise features Plein Air -- or outdoor-- paintings. The works on display showcase both the diverse talents of SC artists and the rich and diverse beauty of SC landscapes. Plein Air painting is a tradition Heathwood has also helped to nurture through recent Winterim classes and retreats led by Mr. Peek.
