The Heathwood Hall Approach

The Sound of Heathwood

The Sound of Heathwood brings together our choral and band programs, giving students opportunities to grow as musicians, performers, and collaborators. Through vocal and instrumental ensembles, students explore a wide range of musical styles, perform at school and community events, and share the joy of music with audiences both on and off campus.

The Heathwood Hall Approach

Band at Heathwood Hall

Students in grades 5–12 are invited to explore the world of instrumental music through Heathwood Hall’s dynamic Band program. Whether they’re picking up an instrument for the first time or building on years of experience, students receive instruction in:

  • Instrumental fundamentals
  • Music reading and theory
  • Ensemble performance skills

Classes meet three times a week, with students participating in both large ensemble and small group settings. As their confidence and skills grow, students also have the opportunity to audition for prestigious ensembles such as the South Carolina Region Band and All-State Band, which include students from both public and independent schools across the state.
