NOLS Wilderness First Aid Class

The goal of the NOLS Wilderness Medicine is to provide the highest quality education and information for the recognition, treatment, and prevention of wilderness emergencies.

DAY ONE - 8 HOURS

  • Patient assessment system

  • Long-term patient care
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Emergency scenarios

DAY TWO - 8 HOURS

  • Environmental Emergencies
  • Preparedness
  • Fractures and dislocations
  • Splint improvisation
  • Emergency scenarios

TUITION: $255.

MEALS: Lunch and dinner options are available at various restaurants off campus but nearby.

LODGING: Camping on the Heathwood Hall campus is available and free. Please let the course sponsor know your camping preference when you are registering.

REGISTRATION: Please see the packet below. Registration is limited to Upper School students and adults.

NOLS Wilderness Medicine has a two-year certification and is recognized by the American Camping Association, US Forest Service, and various Guide Licensing Boards as meeting their first aid requirement. Those with prior NOLS Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification may use this WFA course to re-certify WFR training.
